In the late 1970’s, Rick (Charles) Anderson formed a Christian band in Anderson California known as Homeward Bound.
This page is dedicated to Rick and his wife Lillian after his passing in February 2020.

The band consisted of Rick Anderson (writer/guitar/singer), Dan Bolen (bass), Kelly Ralston (Drums/percussion), Mark Ostrum (electric guitars), Susan Myers (singer), Ruth Wynn (singer) and Ross Santos (writer/singer/keyboards).

Homeward Bound played various venues over the years including Open Air Parks, San Quentin, Churches, The State Fair and many other venues before dissolving in 1979 (shortly after the recordings that follow).

Rick was pivotal in creating the songs, finding the players, negotiating contracts, providing a home built studio in his backyard detached storage, transportation for the band and instruments and leading the band in every new direction that came along.

Rick was my very close personal friend of over 35 years, who motivated me to always do my best, and I will forever miss him.

Old Gospel Medley
Of course we played many places, one in particular that was interesting was San Quentin

Let It Shine
White Horse He Will Ride
Another strange place we played was a bay cruise

Castles Of Sand
We played many Churches

Walls Of Jericho
Anticipation
We always travelled in Rick’s van, along with a trailer filled with gear, we kinda went stir crazy at times

Lay Them Down
To Call Him Lord
Circus In Town and Stepping Out
After van and trailer loading, we take a quick break

Give It A Try
End of concert tunes
Practice
After a long practice sometimes we would go to my apartment, eat some food and then take a dip in the pool

And it wouldn’t be right not to include Ms Patty our most avid supporter (sitting here with Kelly)

We had lots of fun and trials together, life is short, live it with vigor!
